Getting started is simple! Submit a client intake form and we’ll get back to you shortly after to schedule an initial consultation call. During that call, we’ll discuss your business needs, current financial situation, and which of our services would be the best fit. From there, if we’re a good fit, we’ll walk you through our onboarding process and get things started.
We primarily work with clients remotely, which allows us to serve business owners without geographic limitations. All document sharing, communication, and reporting is handled securely online. That said, we understand that some situations call for face-to-face interaction, and we are happy to meet in person when the need arises.
We work with small business owners, independent contractors, freelancers, and licensed professionals such as attorneys, physicians, consultants, and real estate agents. If you’re a solo operator or running a small team and need reliable financial support, we’re a great fit.
To get things started we’ll typically need access to your existing accounting software (or help you set it up), recent bank and credit card statements, any outstanding invoices or bills, and basic business information such as your EIN and entity type. We’ll send you a clear onboarding checklist so nothing gets missed.
Available services include (but are not limited to) monthly bookkeeping, payroll, and federal and state tax filing. Our bookkeeping services keep your day-to-day transactions organized and up to date. Our payroll services ensure that your employees and contractors are paid accurately and on time, with the appropriate taxes calculated, withheld, and filed. We also provide comprehensive tax filing services to ensure compliance and help you navigate both state and federal requirements, giving you peace of mind to focus on your business.
See our Services page for more information!
Bookkeeping is the ongoing process of recording and organizing your financial transactions (think categorizing expenses, reconciling accounts, and keeping your books clean). Accounting involves a higher level of analysis, including interpreting financial data, advising on tax compliance, and preparing financial statements. At McGriff, CPA, PLLC, we bring both skill sets to the table, with a CPA license and a background in corporate accounting.
Yes! We manage payroll processing for small businesses, independent contractors, and employers with staff. This includes calculating wages, handling deductions, and ensuring timely payments. We can discuss the specifics of your payroll needs during your initial consultation.
Absolutely! Catch-up and clean-up bookkeeping is one of the more common situations that we’re equipped to help with. Whether you’re a few months behind or haven’t had your books properly maintained in years, we’ll work through the backlog systematically and get everything reconciled and current.
Yes, we don’t just hand you numbers and leave you to figure them out. We walk you through your financial reports so you understand what they mean for your business. Our goal is to make sure you feel informed and confident about your financial picture, not overwhelmed by it.
We offer flexible pricing to accommodate different business needs. Our options include flat monthly retainers, hourly rates, and per-project pricing for one-time needs like catch-up bookkeeping. During your consultation, we’ll discuss your situation and recommend the structure that makes the most sense for you.
Pricing depends on the scope of services, the size of your business, and the volume of transactions we’ll be managing. After your initial consultation, we will provide a clear, customized quote. Everything is outlined upfront with no hidden fees.
This depends on the complexity of your setup and whether we are building your books from scratch or taking over existing records. Any onboarding fees will be clearly communicated before you commit to anything.
No. We work on a month-to-month basis with no long-term commitment required. We’d rather earn your business every month than lock you into an agreement. That said, once the books are clean and the process is running smoothly, consistent monthly support will likely be an ideal strategy for you and your business. But that’s your call, not ours!
We work primarily with QuickBooks, one of the most widely used and trusted accounting platforms for small businesses. If you’re already using QuickBooks, great, we’ll jump right in. If you’re not yet set up on a platform, we can help you get started.
If you’re not already using QuickBooks, you’ll need a subscription. We’ll help you choose the right plan for your business during onboarding. QuickBooks offers a range of options at different price points, and we’ll make sure you’re only paying for what you actually need.
Yes, always! Your financial data belongs to you. You’ll maintain full access to your QuickBooks account at all times, and we’ll never lock you out or hold your records hostage. Transparency and client ownership of data are non-negotiable for us.
We take data security seriously. Document sharing is handled through secure, encrypted platforms, and we follow strict confidentiality practices. We do not share your financial information with any third parties without your explicit consent.
A monthly bookkeeping schedule works well for the majority of small businesses. If your volume of transactions requires more frequent updates (weekly, for instance) we can discuss that as part of your package. Consistency is key to keeping your finances accurate and stress-free.
We communicate primarily via email and scheduled calls, with a typical response time within the next business day. We aim to be responsive, clear, and proactive, especially around important deadlines or financial questions.
McGriff, CPA, PLLC is led by a licensed Certified Public Accountant with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and several years of experience in public and corporate accounting. That background means we bring a level of financial expertise and attention to detail that goes beyond standard bookkeeping.
If we identify or make an error, we address it promptly and transparently. Part of the monthly reconciliation process is catching and correcting discrepancies before they become larger problems. We’ll always communicate any issues we find and walk you through what happened and how it’s being resolved.
